Larissa Blenkarn is an experienced performer. She has performed throughout Canada and the US. Singing for various businesses and events. Performing the national anthem at hockey games, football games, school assemblies and many more sporting events. She has been involved in all things Music since she was 9 years old. She received a keyboard and learned her first song by ear 1 day later. Larissa attributes her experience through high school and beyond.
Larissa has done it all. She has been teaching part time ever since high school, where she taught Private clarinet and Saxophone lessons in the band room to outside students.
She now teaches vocal, clarinet, flute, and saxophone lessons.
Larissa has played in pit orchestras for various musicals, as well as acted on stage in numerous productions.
She was involved in many extra curricular activities such as the Chilliwack Community Band (Where she played and conducted), Sweet Adeline Women's Barbershop Chorus (She was Soprano and assistant conductor), and the Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra (Multi - instrumentalist and part time conductor).
In 2003 she headed to Alaska where she was the Children's choir conductor, as well as the hand bell choral director. She fronted a rock band which led to having her original songs played on the radio. She was a karaoke hostess with her own original show. She has also led Jam nights every week while there.
Coming back in 2006 is when she really got going. She fronted a disco/rock band which was selected to open the 2010 Olympic games in Vancouver BC. She Co-founded an acapella 4-part harmony group which were regular performers at Chilliwack's Party in the Park. Continued with her vocal teaching and stage acting. Moving on to becoming Assistant Vocal Coach for musical productions, then into a Main Vocal Coach . She has gone onto learning how to mix and master complete songs and has created original songs for Newbury Arts Concepts in conjunction with launching the Cultural Centre. That has helped her to publish a CD of Classical Music available to use in Orchestras. She is a regular performer for Sears Chilliwack each year for their Christmas Season.
As of right now Larissa is currently developing her own stage show to showcase to the world. It will take a light hearted comedic look at music, beauty, and much more.
